Preparation is undoubtedly the key to success! When we have healthy choices to choose from when we need them, we are far more likely to choose them – sounds obvious, but for many of us, poor food choices are the result of not having a healthy option there to begin with and choosing what is readily available.

I suggest sitting down with this resource for 10 minutes on a Sunday and planning out your meals for the week. Stick it on the fridge for the family to see, or even better, include them in the process of choosing a healthy meal each to contribute to the planner. Being healthy is so much easier when you have a support group who are actively committing to being healthy with you.

Once you have completed your food planner, you will be able to use the chosen meals to write your weekly shopping list. I like to prepare a few of my meals in advance so that they are ready to go for me to grab out of the fridge. Make it fun and exciting by adding in healthy meals that you love and will look forward to e.g. Taco Tuesday or Spaghetti Bolognese on a Monday.
